Dave Puglielli grew up in King George, VA and made his way to Beloit College by way of a protracted adolescence in Columbus, OH. Beloit College is where he met and befriended a very thin David Browne (DBrowne) through fellow rider Karl Poetzl. They shared time on the frisbee-golf course, watching bad television programming, and taking part in a cutting-edge cable-access show. Since graduation from Beloit College in 1996, Dave has made his home in Madison, WI. There, with no regard for his degrees in Spanish and Economics, Dave has made his living as a software development consultant. His first David Browne ride was in 2005 where Team 242 circumnavigated Lake Michigan. Since then, he has taken part in every ride.
After being hit in 2007 by car on his bike, he began the "best year of his life." A long recovery process was aided by everyone in his life. Since the accident, he broods less and enjoys more -- especially the company of family and friends.
The 2008 ride promises to be as much different as it will be the same. New riders and terrain will bring new focus to the enduring themes of perseverance and selflessness that have been central to every David Brown ride.
