FrancoI was born in Ollolai, Sardinia. While I started out my athletic career as a boxer, I progressed to Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, and eventually, professional bodybuilding. Nicknamed, “The Sardinian Strongman”, I continued to grow in strength and stature. While small cameos in Conan the Barbarian, the Terminator, and the Running Man gave me some public exposure, my notoriety is due mostly to the 1977 World’s Strongest Man competition. While leading the field in the Refrigerator Race, I stumbled and grotesquely dislocated my knee. After six hours of surgery, and a doctor’s prognosis of never walking again, my impenetrable willpower proved them wrong. I faced my demon, the World’s Strongest Man competition, head on, and proved my worth by tearing apart hot water bottles and lifting a vehicle for a tire change. But Time is no friend of someone in peak physical condition, and I poured myself into a new endeavor, attaining a doctorate in chiropractic and nutrition. I now sit on the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
